Andy Murray Given Green Light to Charge Ahead with Major Expansion of Five-Star Cromlix House Hotel

Tennis star Andy Murray has received official approval to proceed with an ambitious expansion of his luxury five-star hotel, Cromlix House, in his native Scotland. The development, which has been in planning for some time, is set to transform the already prestigious countryside retreat into an even more extensive and luxurious destination for guests seeking high-end hospitality.

Located near Dunblane, Murray’s hometown, Cromlix House has operated under his ownership since 2013 and has garnered acclaim for its elegant accommodation, fine dining, and tranquil setting. The new expansion plans include the addition of 30 more guest rooms, wellness and spa facilities, and upgraded dining and event spaces, significantly increasing the hotel’s capacity and amenities.

The proposal was reviewed by local planning authorities, who granted approval this week after concluding that the development would bring positive economic and tourism benefits to the region. The expansion is also set to create new employment opportunities both during construction and once the new facilities are operational.

A spokesperson for Murray’s management team expressed the former Wimbledon champion’s excitement about the project: “Andy is passionate about creating a world-class experience at Cromlix. This expansion reflects his long-term commitment to investing in the local community and Scotland’s tourism industry.”

The upgrade aligns with Murray’s post-tennis career vision, as the decorated athlete continues to build his portfolio of off-court ventures. While still competing professionally, Murray has increasingly turned his attention to philanthropy and business, with Cromlix House serving as a cornerstone of his entrepreneurial efforts.

Construction is expected to begin later this year, with the expanded facilities aiming for a grand reopening in 2026.
