Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Świątek Headline Stacked Stuttgart Field as Clay Court Season Heats Up
As the clay court season kicks into high gear, the WTA Tour turns its attention to Stuttgart, where a star-studded field led by Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Świątek (pronounced Shvee-on-tek) is set to light up the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
The indoor clay tournament has become one of the premier stops on the road to Roland Garros, offering players a unique blend of fast-paced conditions and early opportunities to test their clay-court form. This year’s edition is no different, with two-time defending champion Sabalenka and two-time French Open champion Świątek spearheading a draw packed with top talent.
Sabalenka, currently ranked No. 2 in the world, returns to Stuttgart looking to make it three straight titles. Known for her explosive power and fierce competitive spirit, the Belarusian will aim to continue her dominant run at the event, which has become something of a stronghold for her.
Świątek, the world No. 1 and widely regarded as the queen of clay, will be the one to watch as she looks to reassert her dominance heading into the heart of the clay swing. The Pole, who won Stuttgart in 2022 and reached the final in 2023, skipped the event last year but returns with renewed focus and momentum after a strong hard-court campaign.
Joining the two headliners is a deep field featuring the likes of Elena Rybakina, Ons Jabeur, Coco Gauff, and local favorite Angelique Kerber, who continues her comeback from maternity leave.
