In a series of unexpected outcomes at the LPGA T-Mobile Match Play in Las Vegas, top-seeded players Nelly Korda, Lydia Ko, and Charley Hull were eliminated before reaching the knockout stages.

Defending champion and world number one, Nelly Korda, faced a challenging match against Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn. Despite rallying on the back nine to take a 1-up lead on the 13th hole, Korda faltered in the closing holes, ultimately losing 1-up.

Lydia Ko, recently inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame, was defeated 2-up by Spain’s Carlota Ciganda, resulting in her elimination from the tournament.

England’s Charley Hull experienced a significant defeat, losing 5 and 4 to Germany’s Esther Henseleit, which ended her run in the competition.

These eliminations underscore the unpredictable nature of match play, where even top-ranked players can face early exits. The tournament now advances to the knockout stages, featuring a diverse group of competitors vying for the title.
