Seventeen-year-old Russian tennis sensation Mirra Andreeva clinched the BNP Paribas Open title at Indian Wells, marking her second consecutive WTA 1000 victory. In the final, she triumphed over world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka with a scoreline of 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. This victory followed her semifinal win against world No. 2 Iga Świątek, making Andreeva the youngest player in four decades to defeat both the top two ranked players in a single tournament.

During her trophy presentation, Andreeva delivered a memorable “Thank Me” speech. She thanked her team and fans but also humorously thanked herself for her relentless effort, saying:

“I would like to thank me for running like a rabbit to defend against Aryna’s powerful shots. I also want to thank me for never giving up and fighting until the end.”
