Carlos Alcaraz Discusses Strategy for Potential Doha Rematch with Novak Djokovic

As the 2025 Qatar Open approaches, tennis enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating a possible semifinal clash between top seed Carlos Alcaraz and third seed Novak Djokovic. Reflecting on their recent Australian Open semifinal, where Djokovic triumphed in four sets, Alcaraz has shared insights into his approach for a potential rematch in Doha.
In a recent interview, Alcaraz emphasized the importance of focusing on each match individually, stating, “In the end, you have to face the best if you want to be among them, so we are going to try to go round by round and give our best until we reach the semi-finals.”
Alcaraz also acknowledged Djokovic’s recovery from a recent injury but remains cautious, noting, “He also has to see how he is after the injury, although he has been training very well; we will see how the tournament goes.”
Both players have challenging paths ahead. Alcaraz is set to face former Grand Slam champion Marin Čilić in the first round, while Djokovic will take on Matteo Berrettini, a Wimbledon finalist, in his opening match.
The 2025 Qatar Open, upgraded to an ATP 500 event, boasts a strong lineup, including six of the world’s top ten players. With Alcaraz and Djokovic potentially on a collision course, fans are eager to witness another chapter in their compelling rivalry.
