“Kim and Andy Murray Unveil Ambitious Expansion Plans for Five-Star Cromlix Hotel”

Kim and Andy Murray, the renowned tennis star and his wife, have announced transformative plans for their luxurious Cromlix Hotel, nestled in the serene countryside near Dunblane, Scotland. The five-star property, known for its elegance and charm, is set to undergo a significant expansion to enhance guest experiences and cater to a growing demand.
The centerpiece of the plans includes a stunning new 80-seat restaurant, replacing the current Glasshouse dining area. The new space will feature large glass windows that offer panoramic views of the hotel’s manicured lawns, along with a terrace for al fresco dining. Meanwhile, the Glasshouse will be repurposed for intimate afternoon teas and private gatherings, ensuring guests can enjoy its unique ambiance in a more personal setting.
To meet the increasing demand for accommodations, the hotel will add four new bedrooms, including an accessible ground-floor suite and additional rooms on the first floor. These changes will increase the hotel’s capacity from 15 to 19 rooms, offering a wider range of options for luxury stays.
In a move to align with the growing wellness tourism trend, Cromlix Hotel will introduce a dedicated “Wellness Cottage” for spa treatments and relaxation. Moreover, nine luxury woodland cabins will be built on the hotel grounds, providing secluded, nature-inspired accommodations. Despite initial objections from wildlife advocates, the proposal has been approved, with the Murrays emphasizing sustainable design and harmony with the natural environment.
Sustainability also takes center stage in the hotel’s expansion plans, with the addition of electric vehicle charging stations and a bike shelter, encouraging eco-friendly travel options for guests.
The expansion comes after a comprehensive refurbishment completed in 2023, led by Kim Murray, which updated the interiors with a modern yet classic style. These efforts, combined with the hotel’s exceptional service, earned Cromlix the title of Scotland’s Best Hotel at the AA Hospitality Awards.
The decision to upgrade dining facilities is fueled by the soaring popularity of the hotel’s Instagram-famous afternoon teas, which draw over 1,000 visitors monthly. This social media-driven trend has brought a younger, more diverse clientele to Cromlix, underscoring the need for expanded facilities.
Set for completion by spring 2026, the ambitious project reflects Kim and Andy Murray’s dedication to cementing Cromlix as a premier destination for luxury, relaxation, and Scottish hospitality. With these plans, Cromlix Hotel is poised to elevate its status as a must-visit retreat for both local and international guests.
