‘That’ll be the first,’ Judy Murray forced to ‘support’ Novak Djokovic after Andy Murray joins his team

Andy Murray has joined Novak Djokovic ‘s team at least till the Australian Open. Andy’s mother Judy Murray commented on the partnership and joked that now she would have to back the Serb during his matches.

Djokovic, though he accomplished the Golden Slam after winning the Olympic gold medal in Paris, was trophyless on the ATP Tour in 2024, and for the first time since 2017, he failed to take home a Grand Slam title.

In March this year, he parted ways with Croatian coach Goran Ivanisevic and in November, he announced his collaboration with Andy, who retired at the Paris Olympics. Judy said that though Andy has competed in many matches on the court, they have a good bond off the field.

I’ve got to support Novak now. That’ll be a first. I mean that in the nicest way, of course. Well, they’re different characters. The first time I saw Novak was when they were playing in an under-12 competition in France. So, they’re part of each other’s furniture and they know each other really well on and off the court.
