
Tomasz Swiatek is Iga Swiatek’s father. He was born on 26 July 1964, and is a former Polish rower. Tomasz represented Poland at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the Men’s Quadruple Sculls event and secured a seventh-place finish. He also won the gold medal at the 1987 Universiade event, and was associated with the Polish sports club AZS Warsaw.
The club was a former multi-section University sports club based in Warsaw, Poland. The 58-year-old and his daughter Iga were both awarded Polish honors in a joint ceremony after Iga won her first Grand Slam title at the 2020 French Open. He was conferred with an Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Resituta for his achievements in sports and for promoting Poland in the international arena.
