Canadian golf star Brooke Henderson failed to advance past the cut at the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open, marking another disappointing outing at a tournament that has historically challenged her.
Competing at Erin Hills in Wisconsin, Henderson carded consecutive rounds of 75, finishing at 6-over par—five strokes above the cut line of 1-over. Despite a promising stretch with birdies on holes 14 and 15 during her second round, a bogey on the 16th and a double bogey on the 18th dashed her hopes of weekend play.
Henderson, a two-time major champion, has had a mixed record at the U.S. Women’s Open. In 13 appearances, she has secured only three top-10 finishes, with her best being a tie for fifth place. This year’s early exit continues a trend of underwhelming performances at this particular major.
The 2025 season has seen Henderson achieve three top-15 finishes, indicating solid form leading up to the Open. However, the challenges of Erin Hills proved insurmountable this time.
Henderson wasn’t alone in her struggles; other notable players such as Lilia Vu, Lexi Thompson, and Jeeno Thitikul also missed the cut, highlighting the demanding nature of the course and competition.
