Andy Murray’s Cromlix Hotel Set for Major Expansion, Reopening Planned for 2026

Andy Murray has received the official go-ahead to move forward with a significant expansion of his luxury Cromlix Hotel, with construction scheduled to begin later this year and a grand reopening planned for 2026.

The former world No. 1 tennis star, who purchased the five-star Cromlix Hotel in 2013, has long expressed a desire to elevate the property into one of Scotland’s premier countryside destinations. Located just outside his hometown of Dunblane, the hotel has become known for its refined charm, award-winning service, and tranquil setting.

The approved expansion plans will see the addition of 30 new guest rooms, a state-of-the-art wellness centre and spa, as well as enhanced dining and event facilities. The development aims to not only boost the hotel’s capacity but also elevate its status as a world-class venue for weddings, corporate retreats, and luxury getaways.

Local planning authorities approved the project this week, citing the positive impact the expansion is expected to have on regional tourism and employment. The hotel currently provides jobs for dozens of local residents, and the expansion is expected to create many more opportunities both during the building phase and once the new facilities are operational.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Andy Murray said, “Andy is incredibly proud of Cromlix and committed to building a truly exceptional experience for all guests. This expansion is a major step forward in realising that vision, and also reflects his ongoing investment in his local community.”

Though Murray remains active in his tennis career, he has increasingly focused on ventures outside of sport, including hospitality and philanthropy. Cromlix has become a cornerstone of his post-tennis ambitions, combining personal ties with professional passion.

With construction due to start later in 2025, the newly expanded Cromlix Hotel is expected to reopen its doors in 2026, ushering in a new era for one of Scotland’s most distinctive and celebrated luxury retreats.
