Henderson Seeks Redemption at Chevron Championship Following Early Season Struggles
After a rocky start to the 2025 LPGA season, Brooke Henderson is aiming to reclaim her form and confidence at the Chevron Championship, the year’s first major. The Canadian golf star, known for her consistency and aggressive play, is looking to turn the tide after several underwhelming finishes in the early months of the season.
Henderson, 27, opened the year with high hopes following an off-season focused on refining her short game and adapting to equipment changes. However, a string of missed cuts and finishes outside the top 30 have left fans and analysts questioning whether she can rediscover the dominant form that once made her a perennial contender on tour.
“The results haven’t been what I wanted,” Henderson admitted during her pre-tournament press conference in The Woodlands, Texas. “But I’ve been working hard with my team, trying to stay patient. A major like the Chevron is the perfect place to reset and find that spark.”
Historically, Henderson has performed well under pressure. With two major titles already to her name—including the 2016 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and the 2022 Amundi Evian Championship—she knows what it takes to rise on the sport’s biggest stages. The Chevron Championship, played at Carlton Woods for the third consecutive year, presents a unique blend of challenge and opportunity.
“She’s one good round away from flipping the narrative,” said former LPGA pro and commentator Morgan Pressel. “Brooke has the talent, the mindset, and the experience to bounce back. Don’t count her out.”
As the LPGA’s depth continues to grow with rising stars like Rose Zhang and Atthaya Thitikul, Henderson will need to bring her best to stay competitive. But if history is any guide, the Chevron Championship could be just the stage for a comeback.
