Novak Djokovic has taken a light-hearted jab at fellow tennis great Andy Murray, joking that he has “no idea” where the Brit is during their current break from the ATP Tour. The comment came during a media appearance this week, where Djokovic was asked about his longtime rival and friend amid speculation surrounding Murray’s future in professional tennis.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion, known for his wit as much as his dominance on the court, smiled when asked if he had been in touch with Murray recently. “No idea where he is,” Djokovic quipped, before adding with a grin, “Maybe he’s finally taken that long vacation he always talked about after playing me so many times.”
Djokovic and Murray share one of tennis’s most storied rivalries, with numerous battles across Grand Slams and Masters events. But as both men enter the later stages of their careers, questions have grown about how much longer they’ll continue competing at the top level.
