Novak Djokovic and Wife Jelena Debate Children’s Cell Phone Use
Renowned tennis champion Novak Djokovic has opened up about ongoing disagreements with his wife, Jelena, regarding their children’s use of mobile phones. The couple, married since 2014, are parents to Stefan, 9, and Tara, 7. Djokovic revealed that their children often express frustration over not having cell phones, noting that all their peers at school possess them. He stated, “My children still don’t have a cell phone, my wife and I argue [about it]. The kids complain, ‘At school, everyone has one except us.'”
Djokovic emphasized his commitment to encouraging an active lifestyle for his children, aiming to differentiate their upbringing from prevailing societal norms. He remarked, “If everyone does something, the herd behaves like this, you have to follow them. Well, it doesn’t have to be like that. This is where I think we differ from others because we are stubborn and active.”
In addition to the cell phone debate, Djokovic highlighted his role in promoting physical activity within the family. He shared, “Out of the two parents, I am the one that is responsible for their activities, sports, healthy lifestyle.” This approach aligns with his broader philosophy of fostering discipline and well-being, both on and off the court.
While the Djokovic children may currently be without cell phones, their father’s dedication to their holistic development remains unwavering.
